Allergy-Free Simanim Platters

About 11,000 students come from abroad to Israel each year to study in the Hold Land. Setting aside a year of their lives before commencing their higher-education, they come to spend time soaking in the culture and spiritual elements that only a country like Israel has to offer.

After spending the first few weeks on a high, enjoying the new and exciting, the upcoming Chuggim is a highly emotionally charged time. Not only is it an uplifting time in the Jewish calendar, but it will also be the first Chug the students will spend away from home.

Students with food allergies have more to worry about than how to manage their shopping and washing, every day they need to make special arrangements regarding their meals and food snacks. By the time the first Chugim comes around, most of the technical details regarding their food arrangements have been sorted out, whether the institution they are studying by can provide some meals and they buy the rest, or their food allergies are too complicated so they choose to get weekly catered food from Food Allergy Concierge- the stress and anxiety surrounding their diet has largely subsided as things fall into place and they feel more in control.

Then along comes the Chuggim with Seminaries and Yeshivas preparing substantial more meals in a short space of time- their kitchen staff becomes overworked resulting in special meals; like those for students with special diets and food allergies, getting less attention than they require. In other situations, students have to find multiple meals in homes of families they barely know as their meals aren’t provided for.

In all situations, sitting down to the first meal of Rosh Hashanah, a very family orientated time, alone- and far away from their loved ones, the first thing that gets served are the Simanim- and already their joy is stilted. While for most of the meal the hosting family have tried to make accommodations, the multiple Simanim proved too complicated.

This year Food Allergy Concierge decided to ensure that every student’s Rosh Hashanah is complete. In addition to their catering options for the Chuggim, they now offer Simanim platters 100% allergy-free so everyone can join in, in this traditional part of the Rosh Hashanah meal.

Don’t want your child to feel different from everyone at the meal with their own platter- why not buy it for the whole family as a present for having your child for a meal. Their host will thank them for a stress-free Chug!

What Our Clients Say

Meticulous in their preparations

During our recent visit to Israel, we really struggled to find food for our son who has anaphylactic level allergies to egg and sesame. We approached both restaurants and hotels and were told they were unable or unwilling to take responsibility for preparing his food.

After learning about Dr. Eliana on-line, we contacted her in the hopes that she could provide a ‘normal’ restaurant experience for our family.

Both she and Shani were meticulous in their preparations with the restaurants to ensure that our son had a wonderful and safe experience.

We truly appreciate their efforts to take care of our son, and to provide us with a lovely vacation experience.

Comfortable, calm, and at ease

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the amazing gift you have given us over this Pesach- the gift of having you with us!!!!

We have NEVER felt more comfortable, calm, and at ease than we did these past 10 days. Your warmth, professionalism, kindness, and care shown through in all that you did.

My children are so grateful that they were able to be with you this Pesach. You made sure that they were so well looked after and they felt so at ease and comfortable with you! You were so amazing and approachable to them! And they LOVED all the food you so amazingly prepared (supervised allergy-free food preparation, managed menus) for them!

It’s very difficult for us to trust people when it comes to our kids and allergies. You magically were able to take away ALL of our anxieties, and nervousness (and we don’t give that away so easily!!)

We can never fully thank you enough. We truly feel that you instantly became part of our family and we look forward to G-d willing being able to be with you and plan amazing trips with you many many many more times!!!!
